T O P I C R E V I E WdsenechalAs you know, Dragon Wings has been releasing some very nice 1/400 scale launch vehicles. There are several versions of the Shuttle, the Saturn V, and most recently, the Saturn IB. So, if you're like me, you are dreaming (in 1/400 scale) of a matching Mercury/Redstone, Mercury/Atlas, and Gemini/Titan.I have been in communications with Glenn at Realspace Models. He indicated that if there was sufficient interest, he would consider producing the three models in 1/400 scale. So, if this is something you'd be interested in, be sure to let him know.(If you purchased the Bandai 1/144 scale Saturn V, you probably noticed that the CSM is a little out of scale. It happens that the Realspace 1/144 version is just right, and fits the Bandai Saturn V perfectly (without causing any damage). I'm working on mine and will post photos when it's done.)Robert PearlmanNot that more wouldn't be all the merrier, but I wouldn't count out Dragon just yet for making the Mercury-Redstone, Mercury-Atlas and Gemini-Titan.Bill HuntI'm just excited about the possiblity of a Dragon 1/400 International Space Station replica to match their shuttles.GoesTo11 quote:Originally posted by Robert Pearlman:Not that more wouldn't be all the merrier, but I wouldn't count out Dragon just yet for making the Mercury-Redstone, Mercury-Atlas and Gemini-Titan.I'd love to "complete the set," and if RealSpace wants to produce kits and decals then good for them and for our modelers here. As for me, a 1:400 Mercury-Redstone would be what, about 2.5" inches tall including the escape tower? I just don't have enough confidence in my long-decayed modeling skills to attempt work at that level of detail. My hope is that Dragon and Bandai extend their 1:400 and 1:144 lines to include the Mercury & Gemini stacks.(fingers crossed)cspg quote:Originally posted by Bill Hunt:I'm just excited about the possiblity of a Dragon 1/400 International Space Station replica to match their shuttles. And Skylab to match their Saturn V/Skylab model?
